CHAMPAIGN COUNTY FAIR
THANKS to all who participated in this year's fair!  Next year we plan to utilize a larger tent to house the EMA, HEALTH DIST. & ARES!  This was a test run for us & next year we can set up radios & antennas.  This is a great way to get exposure of ARES & radio use!

2ND ON THE AGENDA
FIELD DAY
Field Day was held on June 26 & June 27 this year.  This year our event was held at the Melvin Miller Park.  We operated a 2A station.  EMA director Craig Evans was present during the radio demonstration and radio test.  DAVE WB8UCD was operating cross-band repeat from the communication post at the EMA trailer.  This allowed him to work through the repeater clearly from anywhere in the vicinity of the trailer.  Craig was impressed by the full-quieting crystal clear communication to STEVE KC8RZL, and GREGG K8GJP who were operating throughout the county.  STEVE KC8RZL checked in from Rosewood, Christiansburg, and St. Paris.  GREG K8GJP checked in from Mechanicsburg, North Lewisburg, and Woodstock.  Mercy Hospital was also a check-in point.  A summary of our points: Total points 1028; 93 CW contacts, 78 Phone contacts, 500 bonus points; Commercial mains used for power; all transmitters were less than 150 watts; 8 participants!  Thanks to all who participated!  Craig Evans submitted an article in the Urbana Daily Citizen for Field Day.  The Ohio EMA also published an article about Champaign County ARES group.  Big Thanks to Craig for obtaining the Park for our Field Day & your participation!

3RD ON THE AGENDA

The EMA trailer is now parked at Bldg 2( the old hospital).  Throughout the summer, we will be doing a variety of projects on the trailer.  Let DAVE WB8UCD know if you would like to help!

CCESA/CERTS
CERTS has been busy with activities throughout the summer!  CERTS had a setup at the fair also.  Anyone interested in becoming a CERTS member, please contact ED CORWIN.  CERTS will be having a class in the near future.  What a great way to learn about safety and how you can help in our community!  I encourage you to get involved!
